MOTHERS* REBELLION

FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE

We are mothers, grandmothers, aunties, sisters, daughters and allies around the world. We know that those least responsible for the climate crisis are also the most impacted. We believe in the power of mothers and caregivers to demand climate justice.

NEXT GLOBAL PROTEST: 25 MAY

The climate crisis is not slowing down and temperatures are rising all over the planet. Mothers* Rebellion is busy planning our fifth global action which will be held on the 25th of May, marking Africa Day. On this day, we will amplify the voices of our sisters in Africa.

SUPPORT YOUR FELLOW MOTHERS* IN THE GLOBAL SOUTH

The burden of climate change is universal but taking the time to organize and protest is not an equal opportunity. We urgently need your support to lift the voices of mothers across villages, towns, cities and countries of the Global South.

JOIN MOTHERS* REBELLION

We know that many people share our grief and frustration over the climate crisis. We welcome you to become a part of Mothers* Rebellion, by joining a local group or by setting up one of your own. The process is simple, all it takes is determination and cardboard.

WHAT IS MOTHERS* REBELLION?

Mothers* Rebellion is a movement of women in a growing global community on six continents. We will not give up the fight for a sustainable present and future for the current and coming generations. We want to be able to look our children into the eyes and say that we truly do all that we can. We turn our grief and frustration over the lack of a powerful, transformative response from our politicians and leaders into action. Learn more

OUR METHOD: "THE CIRCLE"

The method we use in our demonstrations is simple. It is a circle of mothers* sitting down together in a public space, for example in a pedestrian street, a public park or outside a government building. We sit peacefully facing the passers-by, helping ourselves and others to connect with our climate emotions. We often hold signs with the names of our children or other messages related to the climate crisis. Our message is that we refuse to look away, that we refuse to give up and that we will do everything we can for the lives and future of our children. Learn more
